I thought I’d just share this play list from a wedding I performed for on Sunday in Somerset. Mr & Mrs Harrison booked a tailored package, where I sang during the wedding ceremony, the drinks reception and the evening reception. All of this wedding music was chosen by themselves.

Surprise Wedding Dancers

I saw this on YouTube the other day and have since been forwarding it to nearly everyone of my contacts! It features a couple who turned their wedding ceremony entrance into a disco boogie, dancing down the Aisle to ‘Forever’ by Chris Brown, along with their seven bridesmaids, five groomsmen and four ushers.

This video has currently been viewed more than 16 million  times on YouTube (Going ‘Viral’, as they say) and has made the wedding couple famous, with them appearing on a number of American talk shows. It has also given Chris Brown’s ‘Forever’ a lot of good attention!

Wedding Ceremony Music for Signing the Register

SIGNING THE REGISTER AND BACKGROUND MUSIC

During the signing of the register your wedding guests will either be busy snapping pics or just watching and waiting, so it's always a good idea to have some nice wedding music playing in the background (Unless of course you hire a Wedding Singer who will perform the songs live!). Signing the register is quite a short process, generally taking between about 5 and 10 minutes, but it is an excellent opportunity to fit a few of your favourite songs in.

Some people go for slow and romantic, others easy listening, or traditionally classical music - It's completely up to you.

There are lots of suggestions for the classical wedding music choices out there, so I think for now I'd like to concentrate on contemporary wedding ceremony music.

From my point of view, the processional music/ the song you walk down the isle to has to be very special and moving. People will cry anyway, but getting the right tear Tear-Jerker for your partner is paramount! Or perhaps you're looking for more smiles than tears, in which case you can choose a song with a bit of a bounce. Not too much though or you’ll be running down the isle and you groom/ partner may think you’re a little too keen!

CUTTING TO THE POINT

You may want to consider cutting straight to your favourite part of a song so that you can get the most out of it and capture the crescendo. This can either be done with careful sound management on the day (A job for one of the Ushers perhaps) or you could even ask your wedding entertainment providers to custom make a ‘pre-edited’ track for you, if they are not already helping with the wedding ceremony directly.
